Journey to Nara Park from Kyoto Station

Protected with wind breakers and umbrellas in hand,
we are ready to venture out in the rain!
It had been raining ever since we touched down in Kyoto. It was so wet that we need to bring umbrellas when we left the Hotel every morning.   Our walking shoes could no longer endure such wet condition, so we bought plastic or rubberized shoes and slippers, just to give our walking shoes a day break to dry.

When the weather changed to sunny on 11 August 2014, we decided to leave for Nara Park (Nara Deer Park). We started 9.30am from Kyoto Station, taking the JR Nara Line.  The journey should take about 35min, but we stopped at one of the stations for more than 20min because of some disruption in the railway line caused by Typhoon Halong the previous night!

One English speaking Japanese told us that we could disembark here and walk 8 minutes to Okura Station to take the Kintetsu Line to continue our journey to Nara. One of the tourists took out his handphone and searched for the location of the station and he led us ( a group of 12) there. We soon realized that the traffic in the whole town was jammed up because of the held up of the train at the station!  The drivers on the streets were calm looking as if  they were used to such situation. No one attempted to sound a horn.

At Okura Station, we were allowed to  board the train without any tickets. We reached our destination just before lunch. Also, we were given a refund of our train tickets. After lunch Yee and Fong took the opportunity to cycle around the park while both of us took a stroll down to the park, scouting for some gifts on the way.

What are the chances that the right person to be at the right place and at the right time so that we could connect with him?
This is God's Provision.

Although our train journey to Nara was interrupted, God was with us, watching over us all the way.  He sent his angels to lead us so that we could reach our destination safely and timely.

Why?
Our God is good.
He wants us to have a good and fun time in Nara.
The refund of the train ticket was definitely his favour upon us.

I want to thank Him for His goodness.
He is a faithful God and He promise to be with us at all times,
Praise Him.

A Day In Legoland

Here we are

in Legoland, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Can you see the Chirstmas Tree behind us?
It is built of lego! Very tall you know.

This is no child play, I am taking driving lesson...
driving on the left side of the road, following the traffic rules!

Hurray, I pass!
and have been awarded this driving licence!
Kung kung says my Driving Licence is very expensive.
I think it is still worth it because I got it after only ONE lesson!

Besides driving a car,
Titi and I also learn to fly in our favourite coloured planes!

Don't know why mama also join us in this cup and saucer game,
she says her head will spin with the cup too!

Ready, get set, PULL!

We need to pull the rope hard to lift ourselves up to the top,
and then LET GO to drop down!
Very Excited!

It is fun to ride like a knight!
The horse gallops but I think it is too slow for us.
It is very hot now, and Titi is sweating.

"Look, I can swing!"
"Hei boy!
Don't play there, it is dangerous!
The big wooden box up there will fall on you!", says the Lego Worker.

It is fun to ride this...
slow and steady, up and down...

But not this one!
"The cart slowly pulling along the track up to the top,
and
the sudden drop
made me scream like mad!
Mummy held me tight!"

"Before I could realise what had happened,
the sudden twist and turn made me feel like dropping out from the cart!
H e l p!
...  the scream never stopped because there were so many turns!

Finally we got down,
and mama said she could not walk straight!
I am fine."

We have fun here in this lego playground,
while the adults rested on the benches by the side.

It is getting dark.
Mummy says we need to buy some souvenir before we leave.
The adults look tired but not us.
I don't know why they tired so easily.
They were resting when Titi and I played in the playground.
We have not played in the Adventure Land yet.
Mummy says we can come back again next time.
Bye, bye Legoland, See you soon.

The Little Big Club

The Little Big Club

Anxious

"Hayley, is Bob the Builder here?"
"I don't know. Just watch out in case he suddenly appears!"
"But the banner says he will meet us here! I think he is already here la."

"Bob the Builder, where are you?"

"Over here!"

"Let us go very high to see if we can find Bob anywhere!"
"We are in the clouds, but yet cannot see Bob!"
"I better help to make bricks.
Bob the Builder may come to collect bricks."

We finished laying the bricks!

It is OK
I am not afraid la
It is only Thomas the Train.

Oops, my head!
How come mama can sit inside with us ?

We enjoyed this Barnie Show
"We Are A Happy Family"

Barnie the

We are so excited !
but daddy looks so cool...

We are ready....

Up we go!

But the best is this helicopter ride!
Can control up and down you know...

See, kung kung mama also enjoy the ride!

Cannot find Bob the Builder anywhere.
Why he never keep his promise?

We had fun today!
Thank you daddy & mummy.

A VISIT TO THE ANCESTRAL HOME

A family trip of the FOONGs

6 brothers and sisters came together
to visit their ancestral home

in "Chi Ping", as the name denotes,

a village beside the plains of this little stream. . .

A 16-seater took the group out of the busy Fuzhou City,
driving towards the direction of "Ku Tian".
On the way, passing through "Kan Zir" and "Pai Sar",
among the many small towns and villages.

The journey continued and then exit to the hilly regions.
It was a bumpy journey up the hill,
driving along the narrow and  winding cement roads....

Mud houses like these were found scattered on the hill slopes.

Sigh!

Are we there yet?
Some already feeling giddy and feel like vomitting.

The driver suddenly alerted everyone, "No through road!"

In shock!
everyone look out of the windows...
we were at the peak of the hill!

Hurray!
we reached the house already!

Wow! So BIG!

See, there were many guests' rooms upstairs!

Like to try
balancing yourself up these stairs to reach your room?

Ladies, see the luxury of owning such a big kitchen?

Not too difficult balancing on this plank though,
it is definitely not our choice
if we need to ease ourselves!
